This Valentine's Day we want to help you win over the heart of your crush. Whether you need gift ideas, or date ideas, or even just need help working up the nerve to ask someone one, we are here to help!
Dear Henderson Help,
I have been crushing on someone in my class for a while now. I’d really like to ask her out this Valentine’s Day, but I’m not sure how to. I’ve already tried hinting to her that I like her but I don’t think she’s picked up on it yet. I need to figure out how to ask her out without making things weird or coming across as awkward. What should I do?
Thanks for the letter; we have some ideas for how to help you get the girl.
Give a note: Writing your crush a note is a classic way to confess your feelings in a more approachable way. You can slide it onto your crush’s desk or even have a friend pass them the note.
Give them candy: Candy is a surefire way to win over anyone's heart instantly, and this could even go hand in hand with the note idea!
If our advice works out for you, then here are some date ideas so you can spend time with your crush/significant other for Valentine’s Day!
Go out for a meal: It doesn’t have to be fancy, maybe just grab some lunch in town. It’s a great way to get to know each other a little better, and also includes good food!
Picnic: Although it is a little cold in February for a picnic, the occasional warm sunny day would be a perfect time to invite your crush to share lunch and have fun while enjoying nature.
Watch a Movie: Watching a movie is a great way to break the ice while hanging out for the first time, and you can also get to know the person based on their choice of movies!
Valentine’s Day Cabaret: As you've probably heard on the announcements, the Henderson cast of Mamma Mia is putting on a Valentine’s Day cabaret with popular broadway love songs, which would be a great way to spend time with someone that enjoys music or musicals.
Target: While it may be untraditional, Target is a great place to go on dates. You can make a game out of it too, and get each other things that remind you of each other. It’s a wonderful way to break the ice.
We hope these few bits of advice will help you this February, and remember to not stress over being single this year because it is just as fun to spend time with your friends on Valentine’s Day!
